What is the best way to get lima to cusco?

 

By far the easiest way to travel between Lima and Cusco is to flight. There are 6 or 7 flights per day, and it takes about 50 minutes. The alternative one is a long way journey, twisting bus journey through desert and mountains which takes between 19 and 24 hours depending on the service

 

Domectic flights

There are several airlines companies operating domectic flights in the route between Lima and Cusco. The most reliable and professional companies are TACA, PERUVIAN AIRLINES, AEROCONDOR.

 

TACA: Costa Rica airline company, operating domestic and international flights, is has only one flight a day between cusco and lima, good safety record recommended.

 

Aero Condor: Tours and flights over the nazca lines. package deals from lima, it started operating domestic routes such as Cusco - Lima in 2005, peruvian owned company offering better price than TACA, and LAN, accident reported over nazca lines, but not in the domestic service.

 

Star Peru: Peruvian airline company, it started not many years ago in offering domestic flights, it has only 02 flights a day in the route Lima - Cusco. the airplanes Boeing 737 - 200s where bought from the United Airlines, flights can be booked and paid on line. However their website is only in spanish. No reported accidents so far.

 

Peruvian Airlines: Peruvian airline company, the most recent airline company in Peru. It started in 2010. offers domestic flights, it has only several flights a day in the route Lima - Cusco. the airplanes, flights can be booked and paid on line. is the competitor to Chilean company. No reported accidents so far.

 

LAN: Operating domestic flights, it has not always punctual service, but unfortunately  they have several flights a day.

 

Bus tickets to Cusco,

If you have desided to take bus from lima to cusco or from any border of peru to cusco, there many buses offering daily services. however we advice to pay a litle bit more than the cheap companies in order to get a comfortable bus, remember that it takes many ours to get cusco.

 

Cruz del Sur:A good quality service buses ftrom lima to cusco. you can buy a ticket directly from the  company or we can but it for you at the same price, some times you can fnd a ticket only a day in advance, but it does not give guarantee that when you go a day in advance you can find a place. it takes about 20 hrs to get  cusco from lima.

 

Ormeño: they have web site only in spanish, no facilities to pay online, you can book from peru a day in advance if they have availability. it can take 30 hours  lima to cusco if  takes  the highway by arequipa, 20 hours by apurimac.
