Salkantay to Machu Picchu hike Itinerary:

Day 01: Cusco - Soraypampa. the Salcantay trek, salkantay hike programs starts with the transfer from your hotel in cusco. It starts at 05:00 by bus, and drive to Mollepata. Day 02: Soraypampa - Collpapampa. After an early

Day 03: Collpapampa - Santa Teresa. This is another interesting part of the salkantay hike; an early wake up waits, the escenery shows  a lovely mountains with lush forest. Dinner and over night in a hostal (private bath and hot shower). it can be full day walk or half day walk of the salkantay hike, salkantay trek.

 

Day 05: Aguas Calientes - Machupicchu. wake up at around 4.30 am and bus ride to machu picchu (no more salkantay trek). for a tranquil morning hours in machu pichu, where a complete guided tour in the Inca citadel will take approximately 2 hours. YOU SHOULD BRING:

  • Original passport.

  • Rain gear (jacket and pants if available) or rain poncho.

  • Waterproof hiking boots recommended

  • Backpack with a change of clothes for the whole period of the trek Warm clothes, fleeces. Thermal clothing is also recommended.

  • Sleeping bag (it can be hired at our agency )

  • Flashlight and batteries

  • Camera, films and extra batteries.

  • Sun hat or cap, wool had fro the nigh and cold.

  • Sun block.

  • Insect repellent – minimum recommended 20% DEET – no malaria risk has been reported

  • Toilet paper

  • Snacks: biscuits, energy bars, chocolate, raw fruits, muesli, etc.

  • Non-disposable canteen (Nalgene type) and water for the first morning.

  • Optionally: water purify tablets in case you pick up water from streams or rivers. Otherwise, you can buy from the vilagers.

  • Swimming suit (if you intend to go to the hot springs in Aguas Calientes)

  • Cash in soles and/or US$ (for thing you want to buy and tipping)

  • Original passport

  • Optional: walking sticks or poles (rubber covers required in order not to damage the Trail
