This trek leads by the famous ancient inca trail that once leaded to machu picchu, we would say that this is the best machu picchu trek, also would be known as sacred inca trail, because it starts at tumibamba "zurite" we call it tumibamba inca trail. Amongs the new trail to machu picchu treks, known only by couple tour guides, leading by the heard land of the andes, where you can absolutely be involved in a quiet and pure nature, the trail joins nature and culture, lots of claciers, lakes, blue color mounts and white appearing to be glaciers in some section, the icchu or mountain straws are part of the every day landscape. The trail leads by the ancient inca trail which was connecting Cusco and Machu Picchu, it joins to the traditional 4days inca trail in the 3rd day so this means that in a hike you will enjoy double.

Day 01: Cusco - Zurite - Yanacocha.- Early morning we pass through your hotel and transfer to depart cusco, a nice asfalted route is the entire distance to Zurite which takes about 50 minutes of journey where we will meet our porters or muleeters quechua speaking guys who complete our team. Once get ready the trail will lead us up through inca terraces, farms of corns and potatoes, and see inka´s carved rock in a shape of trone, the we will continue through eucaliptus forest, while we continue the escennery will be more panoramic, the trail goes up hill by an slope and after 3.5 hours we will arrive to a place named llama-cancha (fence where in a rock lama head was painted by the inka artists. fron this site is also posible to see in the horizont cusco´s main apus (holly maunts) Salkantay, Wak´ay huillca "veronica" and Ausangate, in about 1 more hour we will pass the high pint of the day, and down near by an strean we will lunch. after lunch there are about 3 more hours of hike to the camp site, the trails desapears only our expert guides knows which way to follow, we will arrive to hatun pampa (big flat) surrounded by beautifull mountains and arrive at the Yanacocha lake, lake which has many leyends and considered holly by the villagers, we wil camp near by at 4,200. masl.
Day 02: Yanacocha - Kenqo mayu - Ancascocha. we will wakere up litle laterbecause this day will be easier because there is small pass only at one |

hour from the camp site, also nice section as the first day, but more colorfull mountains, where we can see andean ivis, herons, torrent ducks, and the smart andean fox waiting his ship lunch and many caracara eagles, after 2 hours we will arrive in to a nace highland valley a place named kenqo mayu (zigzag river), glacier water following the valley and place where some shepherds leave they have hundreds of ships, our lunch will be at the end of the zigzagging river. after lunch we will still continue down hill and after follow the ancient trail, there is caming litle up-hill section wich will lead us until the place named ascaqocha, we will arrive to our camp spot at around 4.00 pm where near to the glacier maunt and river stream we will camp.
Day 03: Ancascocha - Qhesca - Huayllabamba.- another beautifull hike is for this days, the trail leads the inka trail which in some section is lost underground, an up hill trail to the pass at aroud 4.600 masl part where up on the mountain we can see inca shape rock who is the guard of the trail, then the trail takes us down hill to the lunch spot at a place named qhesca, then in the afternoon we wll still descend to Huayllabamba where we join the traditional inca trail, we will camp at the spot given by the guards and relax for the next day and pass the dead woman pass.
Day 04: Huayllabamba – Pacaymayu.- early wake up and uphill climb the steep sided llulluchapampa area, we pass it by rushing stream and throught enchanted native forest, crossing the rim of this small plateau we abruptly find ourselves in the highland again. The inca trail traverses an open slope opposite mighty mountain crags as we ascend to the first and highest pass, Warmiwañusca (4,200m/13,776ft). where we encounter spectacular views of the trail ahead to the second pass, and look back to the sweeping snow peaks and valleys of the Huayanay massif. We continue to the floor of the forested Pacaymayu valley, where we camp.
Day 5: Pacaymayu –Wiñayhuayna From Pacaymayu, the trail climbs steeply up the opposite side of the valley wall, towards the second pass. About halfway upthere is a small round roofless stone building. This Inca remains is known as Runcuracay The building is thought to have been a astronomic site. After the trail continues to climb towards the second pass, the Abra de Runcuracay, which is at around 3900m.On the far side of the pass, the trail descends towards a valley containing a shallow lake. At this point the trail changes from a dirt path to a narrow stone. |

roadway. the stones of the roadway were laid by the Quechua people of the period of the InkaState. The trail leads to a second, larger Inca site, named Saycmarca "Town in a Steep Place". It was built on a promontory of rock overlooking the trail, and is accessible only via a single narrow stone staircase. (which Bingham inexplicably and erroneously decided to call Cedrobamba).
