The short inca trail trek, is a fantastic trail to machu picchu. It is a sacred path and walking by this trail, you can enjoy the pure nature of sanctuary, it’s a challenging trail that enables people to taste a bit the beauty of the inca trail, trail that is recommended for hikers who don´t have time to walk the complete four days path, it’s also recommended for people who finds that altitude is very hard, the short inca trail maximum is only 2.720 m, which is much lower even than Cusco city. Ideal for trek for slow hikers, for those who love nature but don’t like spending the night in tents. The trail is fantastic combination of nature and contort. The trail offers to the hikers with an impressive landscape, the fantastic view of Urubamba River it shows impressive several archaeological sites along the way, with unique architecture duties that shows that the incas were ahead of many culture in architecture engineering, they also were respectful with the nature, where you will see some varieties of orchids, threes and birds. Short Inca Trail, Daily Departures
Day 01: Cusco – km 104 – Machu Picchu: The two days inca trail starts with in cusco city with an early transfer from hotel, from here we drive to the train station which is at 30 minutes from the city. Upon arrival to the km 104 chachabamba 2200m, we cross a nice bridge and get registered at the control by showing our tickets and passport, chachabamba is a nice valley with warm temperature that hosts an archaeological site, after tour at this site we begin our trek by an gradual uphill trail to Wiñayhuayna, that consists in a group terraces and houses built on a slope of a mountain in the nicest location, at the site the guide will explain all the mining of the place. Along the path we can see many orchids and lush forest, We stop on the way to have our box lunch, then we continue walking by the inca trail and reach the Gate of sun, this point offers the nice view of Machu Picchu, we stop here for some minutes and relax overlooking the Urubamba river, then we walk the last section of the inca trail which is downhill, then we check out the trail and catch our bus to aguas calientes town where after dinner you’ll spend the night in town in a beautiful and quiet hotel.

Day 02: Machu Picchu – Cusco: Early Morning, your guide will meet you at the hotel front desk and take you to the bus stop, then we take bus to machu picchu, it takes about 30 minutes, at arrival we go to the control to get registered then you receive the guide tour at the archaeological park, here you may see the sun rise, the guide will take you to a place where will provide you some history background of Machu Picchu, then will guide you by all the most important sector of Machu Picchu in about 03 hours of tour. You’ll learn about the religious and historical importance of the site, it has a fine architecture and natural beauty, after guided tour optionally you can walk to the inca bridge, a place that offer a great view of the valley and river, the impressive inca bridge, then return to machu picchu and after exit, take bus to aguas calientes, where you can lunch, then catch train to Ollanta, where our transfer will wait you and take you back to the City of Cusco, where the fantastic short inca trail tour ends.
