The inca straw bridge is one of our new tours, In cusco city we have many traditional tours. The inca bridge tours is something very different, we will visit the highlands of cusco, which is at the south east of cusco city. The inca bridge is the only bridge which still been re-fixed yearly since incan times. Our full day tour to the inca bridge gives you also the opportunity to enjoy the view of four lagoons with its particular details, then the if you are not claustrophobic, we can take you to the K’arañawi cave with stalactites and stalagmite, that are hanging from the rock, it is at only few minutes driving before the bridge.
The departure for this tours starts at seven in the morning, we drive our private tourist transport towards pomacanchi village 3670m, wich is at 02 hour from Cusco, the place is quiet and pleasant, where we can see two lagoons, one of them is named pomacanchi lagoon and the other one asnacocha, after looking at this lagoons we keep driving our vehicle towards yanaoca that has a mini volcano which not in activity, all the way has interesting highland view. We’ll drive by the beautiful landscape of the Andean highlands and arrive to the lagoons of pampamarca, from here we continue driving and after about an hour drive we reach Yanaoca village. The place is interesting, we may see some villagers on their traditional custom, and then we continue the journey towards the famous K’eswachaca inca bridge at 3700m.
At arrival the guide will explain the importance and the mining of the bridge that is renewed yearly by four communities in a traditional ceremony (the bridge renewing runs yearly around june 9th by about 1000 persons from 04 communities “Huinchiri, Chaupibanda, Ccollana Q’ewe and Pelcaro” ) after taking some pictures we will have our box lunch near by the bridge. After lunch we return, optionally we can enter in to the karañawi caves located at only 10 minutes by car. The caves in interesting and flashlight is needed, then we return to Cusco city. We will finish the cusco inca bridge tours at around 7pm.
