Day 01: Cusco – Waca Wasi: At 05:00 hrs, our guide and driver will meet you at your hotel, and drive towards Calca “town in the Sacred Valley”, we can do an stop her to shop some stuffs for our trek, we can also buy coca leaf candies to help us at the altitude, walking sticks, they we will take a narrow asphalted road towards the north and reach a summit named (Chayña Pass at 4265m). nice point from where we can see mountains and valleys, this the pass that give us access to the amazon cloud forest, then after an hour we will arrive to lares village and the hot springs at (3100m), we will have some time to jump in to the hot-spring pools and relax, then begin our hike, the land is incredibly nice and while we gain altitude we will get in to the high mountain land of llamas ad alpacas, we will see sheepherders near by the trail, alpacas eating grass very close from the trail and kids with colorful clothes. Then we will reach Waca Wasi (3800m), a village that will be hour home for one night.

Day 02: Waca Wasi – Mantanay: We will have nutritious breakfast then re-star our trek, If school time, we will enjoy watching the school kids running with traditional clothes, from their homes at the mountains to the school, they will approach us and say hello, they will also expect some cookies and or pencils, as we walk we can pass by some houses and the owners will take their hand weaving textiles to our path and offer us to buy them (they sell quality hand made products at cheap price), it could be good to buy from the producers, so bring money if interested in getting authentic peruvian textiles, after some hours of walk by uphill trail we can approach to saccsa llave pass “Huaca Wasi pass” 4550m, here we can take pictures and enjoy the magnificent view, a blue lake is also part of attraction, it is down at just 20 minutes’ walk, it is the Aroray qocha, we will have a fancy lunch at this site, then we will continue our trek, we will pass by native trees and arrive to the banks of another lake “Millpoqocha”, we can see the Pumahuanca and Q’apacsaya snow mountains, then following downhill path we can arrive to our camp at Mantanay “ 3650m”, and camp in the middle of the trees.

Day 03. – Mantanay – Sacred Valley – Cusco: We will wake up at about 06 in the morning, have breakfast, then hike, we will follow a wide trail that is covered polylepis forest, the trail is all downhill and as we get in to a lower elevation we can approach to the sacred valley, after about 4 hours of walk we will reach the Yanahuara hamlet (2800m), this is located at the northwest of cusco and it is a reach valley where the locals farm fruit trees. We will arrive to a house where hour cook will make us lunch, after lunch we can take our private transport back to Cusco city. (If you have a connection to Machu Picchu, we can drive to ollantaytambo and take the evening train and spend the night, then on the next day visit machu picchu and return to Cusco).
