Day 1: Cusco – Cancha Cancha. Day 2: Cancha Cancha – Quiswarani. Day 3: Quiswarani – Lares – Huacawasi. Day 04: Waca wasi – Millpo Lake. Lares trek is full of pure nature, leaving early morning to find easy uphill, in this section the lares trek takes by a brief ascent to the Huahuaqasa pass at 4398 meters before descending to Aruraycocha and Millpo lakes which are formed by the melt waters of the Pumahuanca and Capacsaya snow peaks. Day 05: Mantanay – Yanahuara – Cusco. this part of the lares trek seems to be easier than other sections, after breakfast the trail descends by a lush native polylepis tree forest, in about 3 hours the lares trek riches the famous incas sacred valley at the sector callled yanahuara, a nice village at the end of this lares trek, with an agreeable weather at 2800 masl. this place is reccomended to spend a weekend. the tiny hamlet of yanahuara is located at only 1.20 minutes aut from cusco, with its terraces, slopes sown with corn and watered by the clacier water. at this site is the lastlunch given and after lunch a minivan takes back all the team and our lares trek ends in the afternoon. the lares trek has an optional extension to machu picchu for an additional price, so if that is your wish from yanahuara we drive to ollantay tambo, which is located at only 20 minutes by car and take train to aguas calientes, and visit machu picchu on the followind day.
